Totempoles

Totem poles are an important part of the Haida culture. The totem signifies (or represents) family crests, legends, and tribal traditions of the Haida and other tribes of the Northwestern part of North America. Totems were also used to represent monuments for the dead, the same way we use headstones on a loved one's grave.

Knowing how important totempoles are to Haida indians I knew I would have to get a tattoo of a totempole. I'm really pleased with the result.
