I decided to have a Bill Reid design tattooed on my left foot. Silly idea because it bloody hurts and swells up like a balloon afterwards! I'm really pleased with the end result though, no pain no gain.
The Haida Grizzly Bear symbolizes strength and shows the grizzly bear in the traditional Haida colours of red and black. The bear's large flaring nostrils attest to its fierce character; its protruding tongue symbolizes the oral tradition of the Haida people. This particular image of the Grizzly is depicted on the back of the new Canadian $20 banknote.
